Friday Becky (from Does My Blog Make Me Look Fat) posted the most amazing challenge idea- Fatshionology. Every month has a theme (to be posted at any time  of the month) with a blog hop between all the other member. It sounded great so here is my first post on the theme of...

... breaking the rules.

I wasn't really sure what to post. There are hundreds of fashion rules that I seem to break (I'm a big fan of horizontal stripes, playsuits, leggings as trousers, oversized clothing to name just a few) but this is a challenge and wearing those seemed a little easy.

So my breaking the rules is- skinny jeans. Someone once said that fat people shouldn't wear skinny jeans but they show off my legs so well. But I don't know why I just don't seem to be able to wear jeans as of late. As a 12 year old I lived in black drainpipes (that I bought from Camden Market as it was the only place you could buy them) but as I've changed my style I am less confident in them. They're just a little to casual for me (I like dresses and skirts). But cropping the legs, and throwing on a shirt and leather I felt like on the of the Pink Ladies.

So this is me breaking my rules. Now I need to think of the ultimate second hand look.

  1. Way to break the rules! I think this is such a great idea for the upcoming months too, I can't wait to see more :)
Psh, and skinny jeans look fantastic on you!

  2. is a great post to breakin' rules about clothing, I know sometimes we feel uncomfy with kind of clothes, but you look good with jeans, and the jacket give equilibrium to the outfit, excelent!

  3. I love your more casual look, it's cool and understated but still sexy!

    1. Yeaaaasss! I love this look. Way to break out of your comfort zone and wear something new and different. I think the jacket really does make it pink lady-esuqe, heh heh heh~

I am absolutely the same way about not feeling confident in skinny jeans--I haven't had jeans in my closet for geez, like since before middle school? And only then because people said jeans were "cool" to wear.

  4. Bah, screw what other people say. They say shit for skinny girls too, there's no satisfying them!
I love this outfit so much, looks rather bad ass!
